Jumong Episode 7

The new governor of Hyeon-to city, Jeong Yang visited King Geumwa in the Buyeo palace and told the king to discontinue operations of Buyeo's iron works which was constantly developing weapons that can  compete if not equal the Han's iron weapons.

Jumong became interested in making himself an ion sword and requested Mo Pal Mo to teach him how to make one.  One evening as he sneaked inside the iron chamber to make his sword as per the teachings provided by Mo Pal Mo, the fire furnace suddenly burst and exploded and engulf the iron chambers into blazing fire which almost killed Jumong.  it turned out to be the blast was sabotaged and deliberately caused by the Han soldiers that accompany the visiting governor of Hyeon-to city.  Prince Young-po have known about the plot before hand but prevented reporting it to prince Daeso thinking it will be another edge for his older brother if the latter will be the one to report to the king. Young-po decided to let it just pass.

In order for Jumong to strengthen his character and his outlook in life, King Geumwa have told Lady Yoo Hwa that he need to experience living outside the palace even though it might break her motherly love for Jumong.  Lady Yoo Hwa somehow agreed to the king's wishes and just take it as an opportunity from clashing near the king's other 2 sons.  During the times  that she misses him, she just caress over Jumong's clothes to ease her worries.

Jumong experienced life outside the comfort of the palace and became a vagabond.  Na-ru followed him around as per instructions from Prince Daeso.  

One day, he met a group of thugs hired by Na-ru and fought hard with them.  He got stabbed during the encounter and was helped by the group of Oh-Yi, Mari and Yeopbo who were street thugs earning their keeps bt scamming people on the street.  Jumong has also become one of their victim when they tricked and robbed him of the valuables given to him by Mu-deuk as something he can trade for money which he can use for his expenses outside the palace.

The group brought him to Bu-Young, the divination maid who was also their friend and knows how to treat wounds.  Bu-young recognized him and immediately treated his wound.

King Geumwa investigated the initiator of the rumors that was circulating in the palace.  The person told it was the Palace Emissary and brother of Queen Wonhu that instructed him to circulate the rumor.

Jumong bribed Mu-song  the prison guard of the cave prison in Mt. Soo-Mi by bringing him wine in exchange for teaching him to fight.  Mu-song was story telling rumors that are circulating in the palace and tell the stories to other prison guards guarding the cave prison with him.  The stories he told was overheard by the blind prisoner in one of the cells who became interested after hearing them.  He summoned for Mu-song and asked if its true that Lady Yoo Hwa became pregnant with the General's child.  Although unsure about the details due to the many versions circulating, he told the blind prisoner that its true according to the source of the story  That blind prisoner was said to be detained in that cave prison for decades now.

The team of merchants of Yeon ta Bal were discussing strategies on how to take action against those underground merchants like Do-Chi who were illegally smuggling salt into the market.  Although risky, So Seo No suggested that they take control over the market by striking Dol-chi and his men where the trade occurs.  Having full confidence with his daughter, Yeon ta Bal agreed and let her take  charge with caution.  Yeon ta Bal  agreed to go with the team to Buyeo and at the same time visit the high priestess when one of her maids brought news from  the palace that the king agreed for an arranged meeting.

King Geumwa was pleased to meet Yeon ta Bal who will eventually give him news and valuable information from far places their caravans have visited.  in exchange, he requested permission from the king for trade rights in Buyeo market.

While in the palace and as his father met with the king, So Seo No wandered around the palace area until she reached the training arena where Prince Daeso was practicing his fighting archery skills.  He almost hit So Seo No with his arrow and So Seo No positioned to fight him.  Prince Daeso, enchanted by her looks agreed to fight with her.  But a divination maid who was assigned to bring back So Seo No back to the divination palace where his father was talking with the high priestess, prevented them from continuing the fight and summon back So Seo No as she apologized to the prince.

Bu-young treated Jumong's wound as Young-po's men roam around searching for his whereabouts.  Jumong asked forgiveness from Bu-young on how she have suffered ever since she was kicked out of the divination palace because of his wrongdoing.  Oh-Yi, who has no idea who he is, asked Jumong to go away since many are following him and he was disrupting their business scamming and robbing people on the streets of their valuables.

Worried, Bu-young asked Jumong who were those men haunting him.Although ashamed for what he has done in the past, Jumong requested Bu-young if he can stay and help him find a job since he has nowhere to go. Bu-young who works with Do-chi introduced Jumong as Chu-Mong to hide his identity and urge him to give him work.  Jumong was taken by Do-chi as one of his men.

So Seo No and Wutae tracked Do-Chi's contraband and seized them wile being unloaded from a boat. A fight ignited between the men of the two merchants.  So Seo No encountered Jumong as one of Do-Chi's men during the struggle saving Do-chi who was pleased with Jumong. Do-chi instructed the group of Oh-Yi, Mari, Yeopbo along with Jumong to retaliate and attack Yeon Ta Bal's place.  But So Seo No awoke when they  entered her room causing a commotion.  They captured and took So Seo No to Do-chi's hideout as  they wait for Yeon Ta Bal's next move.

In Do-chi's hideout, Jumong realized that the woman they are holding in captive was actually his So Seo No who saved him from being engulf by the quicksand in the forest near the Founder's Mountain.  

Jumong Episode 5

One day, Prince Daeso and Young-po are practicing their fighting skills with the Prime Minister and Chief General watching them. The Chief General praised their abilities by telling them that they both can lead the Buyeo army in stead of the king.  Prince Daeso then asked the Prime Minister'a opinion on what would be the outcome in case Buyeo goes to war with Hyeon-to city which was hampering their expansion.  The Prime Minister replied that it will be difficult for Buyeo to win the war because the weapons of the Han nation are incomparable to those of Buyeo.  He also noted that it was the king's efforts and diligence in developing its weaponry that he was able to win battles.

So Seo No and her caravan returned from their Ok-Jo trade to their Buyeo post and was welcomed back by her father. Yeon Ta Bal was delighted with Se Seo No's accomplishments about her trade journey as reported by her uncle.  He planned to pass on the chieftain position to her soon.

Yeon Ta Bal watches from afar as priestess Yeo Mi Eul as she contemplates while bathing with her maids bathe near a waterfall.  Yeon Ta Bal plans to visit the priestess to win over business favors with King Geumwa of Buyeo since the priestess is a close confidante of the king. Yeon Ta Bal wished for a visit and the priestess gladly accepted as she told him to visit her at the divination temple at Buyeo palace.

The king decides to hold a testing event for the newly developed weapons and invited the court as well as priestess Yeo Mi Eul. Before the testing event started, Prince Daeso requested that he be allowed to test the new weapon with Prince Jumong as his match.

Initially during the match, Prince Daeso seemed to have the upper hand until Jumong with one great blow of his sword was able to break Prince Daeso's sword as he almost cut Prince Daeso's neck due to his broken sword. Mo Pal Mo, the iron master immediately knelt in front of the king in apology for the malfunctioned sword. But instead of being disappointed, the king ordered the Prime Minister to commend Mo Pal Mo and the ironsmiths for their hard work.

Prince Young-po consoled his brother Prince Daeso that it was not him who was at fault but the faulty sword why he lost the match with Jumong.  But prince Daeso suspected that Jumong has been learning swordsmanship from someone and instructed Prince Young-po to find out developments by closely watching Jumong.  Jumong for his part told his mother that instincts made him defend himself and escape Prince Daeso's blows during the match. But Lady Yoo Hwa thought that the lessons from the brother of Mu Deuk who was training Jumong on occasions that he was able to do better in his swordsmanship.  Mu Deuk's brother Mu-Song was a captain prison guard of a cave prison under Mt. Soo-Mi for special prisoners.

While practicing martial arts with Mu-Song in the  cave prison, Jumong encountered a strange prisoner which he found out has been detained in that prison for decades.

Jumong told his mother, the conditions of the prisoners kept on that cave prison under Mt. Soo-Mi where he used to practice with Mu-Song.  He told her that a strange blind prisoner has been imprisoned there for decades for unknown crimes.  He told his mother that the moment he saw that  
strange prisoner its as if he was struck by lightning. One day, he was able to chat with the blind prisoner and ask some questions about him.  But the strange prisoner was likewise elusive to answer him properly about his queries since according to him, he was also clueless as to what crime did he commit nor why he was imprisoned there.  He also have forgotten who he was due to his long incarceration to that place.

The queen summoned Lady Yoo Hwa to her chamber in order to let her hear what a visiting troubadour was telling the people from the stories he collected from his numerous travels. The story that the troubadour told was deliberately arranged by the queen to hurt the feelings of Lady Yoo Hwa.  But instead of giving in to the whims of the queen to see her distressed, the lady just shun it off as  sme wild rumor as she forgive the troubadour who now was pleading for his life.

The rumors about General Hae Mo-su and Lady Yoo Hwa have reached the Prime Minister that he consulted it to priestess Yeo Mi Eul.  But the priestess seemed so distressed about it that she think she has caused the general's death in the hands of the Han.

True to his words, Yeon Ta Bal paid a visit to priestess Yeo Mi Eul bringing along silk and some rare delicacies.

One day, priestess Yeo Mi Eul along with the Prime Minister visited the cave prison.  Mu-Song showed and accompanied the two inside the prison.

Priestess Yeo Mi Eul was one of those people involved along with the Prime Minister on why General Hae Mo-su was imprisoned in the cave prison decades ago when the general came back alive after supposedly dead when ambushed by an arrow shot from a cliff and fell on the river below the cliff.  The general managed to return back to the palace gates where he was captured by the guards loyal to the the high priestess.  General Hae Mo-su was hidden and imprisoned in the cave prison.

Jumong Episode 4

Disgusted by Jumong's behavior unbecoming conduct and with his mother always pleading on his behalf, King Geumwa accorded punishment for his misconduct.  But his brother, Prince Daeso pleaded that he accompany him instead to see the Damul bow  which their father requested him and his brother Young-po to go and find in the mountain. Prince Daeso planned to eliminate him for good on the journey to see the Damul bow.  The bow was a sacred treasure that believes to renew a warrior's heart and test their abilities.  One need to see the Damul bow as it is a sacred weapon used by the ancestors in order to build a great nation.  Jumong's mother adviced that as  a prince of Buyeo,  it is a must to see and visit the bow to receive its sacred energy.

The three set off to the Mt. Shijo as directed by their father, King Geumwa. Reminding them that once they set out of the palace, they were no longer be princes and must do all their mission using their abilities and skills.

Once the three princes entered the forest on the way to Mt. Shijo, Prince Daeso and Young-po lured Prince Jumong into a quicksand pit and left  him all alone.  This is the plan they thought  of exterminate Jumong for good and never come back to the palace.

Jumong fell deep in the quicksand and was almost buried alive by it when he was saved and helped by So Seo No and Wutae who were in the forest as travelling merchants and whose caravan was passing by the forest when they heard his plea.

Once conscious, Jumong asked So Seo No what  place were they in?  So Seo No finds him so arrogant that instead of answering him directly points out his rudeness as he tells him that she was his savior. Jumong was about to tell him that he was a Buyeo prince but was again cut off by So Seo No and turn her back on him.  Jumong was about to confront her when So Seo No gave him a kick and lash him with a whip. The whip blew off her cap revealing her hair down.  Jumong followed to confront her around but he was no match to her fighting abilities even though she was a woman.  She told Jumong that she can easily beat even 10 men like him. She then instructed her men to tie him so he wont get away.

As the caravan was about to leave, Jumong pleaded to be untied since he was still on the mission to go and find Mt. Shijo for the Damul bow. But So Seo No thought of it as just his escape plan.  They proceeded to their deal destination where they will be trading steel swords.  Jumong witnessed how So Seo No and her team traded the weapons to group bandits.  As they were about to close the deal, the Heng-in bandits tried to double cross them and initiated a fight.  But So Seo No's men are ready and prepared to take them in instead.  Jumong tied could only watched the unfolding fighting between them.  Seo No ordered her men to kill the bandits but Wutae think otherwise and  told her to kill them herself instead.  She then told the bandit leader that she will instead sell the weapons with Heng-in's enemy, Ok-Jo.  She told them to leave instead or die.  The bandits quickly dispersed off their path.

Arguments arise between Wutae and  So Seo No as soon as the bandits run off.  Wutae suggested a whipping instead of such looks from So Seo No who thinks Wutae look at her as an immature little girl.  As they argue, Jumong butt in and told So Seo No that she was too narrow-minded to be a trader.  He think that the bandits given the opportunity will somehow return the favor in the future.  Wutae, thinking Jumong was mocking So Seo No draw the sword on his neck.

In order to show what he really can do, So Seo No ordered to untie him and have a fight with one of her man promising she will be free and grant him a wish if he will win else he will be sold as a slave.  Jumong showed off  his strength and won the fight.

Prince Daeso and Prince Young-po have reached the high peak that will lead them to the Damul bow.  In the map a clue says:

'At the Hal hour, the shepherd is in the east. The shepherd has a wooden crane.  The shepherd will give you wooden cane with a hole.'

Following the clue written on the map, the two figured out a hole on a stone boulder where one can see a cave inside.  The  cave where the Damul bow can be found inside.  The two trek the path inside the cave where bats greet them as they went inside.


So Seo No decided to bring in Jumong as one of his porter in the caravan.  And they continue the travel.  And as they are about to pass Mt. Shijo, she advised Jumong about its approach and leave him near it as the caravan continue its journey.  Before leaving them, Jumong told So Seo No in secret that he like her, his name and identity as a prince of Buyeo.  He told her that if ever she comes to Buyeo, she can look and find him.  But So Seo No think he was just some kind of a free spirited fool. And he set off up the mountain for his mission on seeing the Damul bow.

Meanwhile, his two brothers have reached the inner cave where the Damul bow was located.

Prince Daeso was the first to lift up the bow releasing some sort of energy from its mount. He tried to string it up but failed to do so.  Prince Young-po also tried it but likewise was unable to string it up.  No matter how both of them tried, the bow will not bend and cannot be strung by any of their strength.  Since the bow is a symbol of Buyeo and that both of them cannot string the bow, they decided to better head home instead. The two kowtowed to the bow before they left.

Before reaching the cave, Jumong had fallen asleep beneath the boulders due to dehydration and exhaustion.  He overheard his brothers' conversation as they were about to leave the cave.  The two thought he was already dead and thinking of their delight on the thought of how his mother Lady Yoo Hwa will react upon hearing Jumong is dead. Jumong hid well as the two left the place.

Jumong was so saddened by his brothers acts and contemplated on his next moves.  He continued to move into the cave despite obstacles and risks and reached to where the Damul bow was located. Upon reaching the site and seeing the bow, he lifted it from its mount and tried to string with all his might  and strength.  Jumong successfully strung the bow.  However it broke when he tried to draw to shoot.  Shocked by how he broke it, Jumong immediately return the bow to its mount.

When Prince Daeso and Young-po reported back to Buyeo palace they told King Geumwa that Jumong died while leading them to Mt. Shijo that despite their all their effort looking for him they were unable to find him.  Lady Yoo Hwa could not believe the news and firmly believe her son Jumong is alive. The king ordered Gen. Heuk-Chi to take some soldiers and search the area where Jumong was supposedly lost in the forest.

But, as they are about to leave the palace gate, Jumong came by exhausted and walking towards them.  Lady Yoo Hwa who was advised  that Jumong is coming, rushed to the palace gates and meet her son.

Back at Lady yoo Hwa's chamber, Jumong told everything that happened to him.  King Geumwa prepared a banquet for the safe return of his sons as he asked each of them to describe about their encounter finding and seeing the Damul bow.


Both Prince Daeso and Young-po claimed to have seen the bow and that they both even tried to string it but cannot do so since it was so hard for them to string it.  But Jumong, in order to keep the secret that he broke the bow told his father that he was lost after coming out of the forest and decided to come back without even attempting to reach Mt. Shijo.  Although shocked hearing what Jumong have said, his mother remained silent the whole time despite knowing the true story which Jumong told her before coming to the banquet whereas King Geumwa seems disappointed about Jumong's performance.

Jumong Episode 3

20  years passed and Jumong and his brothers grew up as fine men and heirs to the throne of Buyeo. As soon as he succeeded the throne, King Geumwa continued hae Mo-su's effort in reuniting the GoJoseon nation through continuous evelopment of the army's iron weapons and expanding the borders through invasion until his countless battles threatened the lands of the Han.

Jumong who grew up in Buyeo palace and lived just like Prince Geumwha's other children and princes like him well taken cared and carefree. yet learned discipline from his foster father, King Geumwa. Those who assumed that he will be like General Hae Mo-su later sink in on the thought that he was far to be like his biological father and therefore pose no threat to the Buyeo throne.

Jumong liked and became fond with the divination maid, Bu-Young who suffered punishment due to Jumong's youthful advances and carefree attitude.  Jumong's attitude had become his weakness that made his 2 brothers exploit and abuse him more and became King Geumwa's major headache.  But because of his promise to take good care of  both the lady and Jumong and his undying love for her, the king turned a blind eye and geared on favoring Jumong most than his other siblings.  This made Jumong's siblings envied him most and jealous over their father's over attention to him.

Jumong - Korea's Legendary Hero Lives On

Introduction:

Jumong was a fictionalized Korean historical epic drama TV series about the life and adventures of Korea’s legendary hero Jumong.  The drama series was aired in MBC from May 2006 until March 2007 as part of the network’s 45^th anniversary special.

Jumong  as he was popularly known was actually the birth name of Jumong Taewang or King Dongmyeong, who lived between 58 BCE an 19 BCE as founder of the kingdom of Goguryeo , the northernmost of the three Kingdoms of ancient Korea.  Goguryeo was located in the northern and central parts of the Korean Peninsula and the southern and central parts of inner and outer Manchuria.  Goguryeo was also known as one of the three kingdoms of ancient Korea.

Jumong which means ‘master archer’ was named by his mother, Lady Yoo Hwa after his birth father General Hae Mo-su who was a great warrior and skilled archer himself.   Since the original legend story was highly mythical, the TV series portrayed Jumong as a prince raised by his foster father, King Geumwa of Buyeo who grew alongside his two half-brother princes.  Buyeo was a small tribal kingdom north of the Korean peninsula and Manchuria.

The lead character role Jumong was played by Korean actor Song Il-gook who won his Best TV Actor award from 14th Korean Culture and Entertainment Awards for his portrayal in the TV series.

Jumong Episode 2

The travelling merchants led by chief Yeon Ta Bal, chief of the GyehRuBu clan encountered General Hae Mo-su on a brook as he was drinking water from it.  Chief  Yeon Ta Bal thinking he was a fleeing refugee, offered him food and  took him as a member of his caravan.  General Hae Mo-su introduced himself as a refugee named Lee Gan-Sang.The chief's pregnant wife was then pregnant and about to anytime deliver their baby.  The baby was later to be So Seo No and chief   Yeon Ta Bal's daughter and the future queen of Jolbon and the second wife of King Jumong.

General Hae Mo-su learned during their conversation that the Ha-baek tribe was wiped out by the Han. He also learned that Lady Yoo Hwa was being brought to Hyeon-to-Goon city for public execution.  General Hae Mo-su get to the river where Lady Yoo Hwa saved him and ponder on the thoughts of their moments together.

Prince Geumwa after knowing what happened to Lady Yoo Hwa and her tribesmen, planned on rescuing her from the Han and snatched her from her captors on the trip going to Hyeon-to-Goon city. The prince who has fallen in love brought Lady Yoo Hwa later on to the Buyeo palace to recover.

The caravan of the travelling merchants led by chief Yeon Ta Bal headed to Hyeon-to-Goon city after the safe delivery of his wife.  They brought along Lee Gan-Sang as a porter of their goods.  However, chief Yeon Ta Bal thought of offering Lee Gan-Sang as a subject of a once in a lifetime opportunity deal with the Han ambassador in  Hyeon-to-Goon city knowing he was really General Hae Mo-su disguised as a refugee  Lee Gan-Sang.

While the wife of chief Yeon Ta Bal was on labor, the caravan was attacked by bandits.  General Hae Mo-su fight and drove all the bandits and save their lives.  Being their savior was what made  chief Yeon Ta Bal reconsider about dealing and handing over General Hae Mo-su to the Han.  Chief Yeon Ta Bal later revealed this fact to General Hae Mo-su when they arrived at Hyeon-to-Goon city and that that he was in the city to rescue Lady Yoo Hwa.  Chief Yeon Ta Bal told General Hae Mo-su  that he considered his not telling the Han about him as repayment for him saving their lives from the bandits and urged him to leave them since it will mean endangering them and the GyehRuBu clan.  General Hae Mo-su through information secured by Chief Yeon Ta Bal  later that Lady Yoo Hwa died on the way to Hyeon-to-Goon city.

Priestess Yeo Mi Eul talked and confronted Prince Geumwa about Lady Yoo Hwa telling him that she cannot be by her side.

General Hae Mo-su was able to return to the Damul army stockade and reunite with his friend Prince Geumwa.  In one of his visit to Buyeo palace, the prince excitedly introduced him to Lady Yoo Hwa. He knelt as son as he come face to face with the lady in remorse to what has happened to her clan.  But instead of hating him, Lady Yoo Hwa told him that she was not angry but wanted to only promise him revenge for her clan who died unjustly.

Prince Geumwa's wife, Crown Princess Wonhu grew jealous and inconvenient having Lady Yoo Hwa in the palace and tried to talk to her about her intentions  and offer to be a royal concubine to Prince Geumwa.

She later found out that Lady Yoo  Hwa was not in love with Prince Geumwa but with General Hae Mo-su instead.  She even told her willingness to be assigned in the stockade to help and serve the Damul army in order to avenge the death of her tribe.  Once Lady Yoo Hwa was assigned in the stockade, she and General Hae Mo-su grew more and more fond with each other.

Unable to express his love to Lady Yoo Hwa, Prince Geumwa find himself confiding his inner feelings to priestess Yeo Mi Eul.

King Hae Bu-ru reported in the Buyeo court that Wo Ju, Xing Ren and Gai Ma nations have joined their alliance in the war with Yan Na, Guan Na and Fei Lui nations unable to send troops to their alliance.

Jumong Episode 1

The story of Jumong started in the year 108 B.C.  when refugees and  believed to be militants of the GoJoseon nation revolted and waged war in their bid to rebuild their nation across the HanBan island and Liao Dong Plain against the mighty cavalry of Han nation.  The revolt was led by General Hae Mo-su.  But, after a year-long battle, the GoJoseon nation was annihilated by the Han and set up Nak-Rang, Jin-Beon, Lim-Doon and Hyeon-to-Goon out of the former lands of the GoJoseon nation.

The intensified pursuit and oppression against the citizens of  the Gojoseon nation led them to escape the tyranny and migrate to other countries.

Buyeo, an ancient tribal kingdom ruled by then King Hae Buru and father of the then Crown Prince Geumwa remained an ally state of the Hyeon-to-Goon state group by the Han.

In a festivity hosted by Hyeon-to city, Crown Prince Geumwa participated in a warrior game to show his might over the lowly refugee captives which the governor of Hyeon-to enjoyed watching in delight. After the game, Prince Geumwa was awarded  the Imperial Warrior Sword brought by Hae Mo-su disguised as the mysterious sword master who came late.  To show off, Prince Geumwa requested the governor to punish the late sword master with a duel fight to death with him.

The spectators got excited and demanded the warriors exhibit their skills and fight for everyone to see who was a better warrior.  And the duel begin to the delight of everyone.  But unknown to many in the arena, Prince Geumwa and Hae Mo-su were buddies and comrades in fighting against the Han.  The duel in the arena was just an act in order to safely get the refugees out of prison.

During the fight, Prince Geumwa's spear broke into two parts and Hae Mo-su swiftly kick the arrow head part to struck the watching Han ambassador right into his chest.  The entire arena has gone into chaos as assassins belonging to the Damul army swamped the place in rebellion.  Some of the army got  to the prison cells and free the refugees out.

During the commotion, Prince Geumwa was struck by an arrow in his arm.  Hae mo-su was quick to aid  rescue him as he blow a horn to signal retreat on his comrades. Hae Mo-su and the Damul army assassins got out of the arena quickly bringing along Prince Geumwa with them.

But since they carry no medicine to treat the injury of the prince, Hae-Mo-su decided and instructed his comrades in the Damul army to escort Prince Geumwa back to the Buyeo palace.

In Buyeo palace, King Hae Buru talked it out with the Prime Minister about how Buyeo have benefited from the attack of Hae Mo-su's  Damul assassins that freed the refugees  detained by the Han.  King Hae Buru view the happening as something beneficial to Buyeo for the refugees to settle in his kingdom and form part of his citizenry which could later on form part of his army in fighting against the Hans.  Later, King Hae Buru visited the divination palace for some consultation.

Priestess Eu Mi Eul reported her vision about the three legged bird that appeared in Buyeo's sun and vanished.  Although she cannot foresee if the bird was an ominous sign or not.  She said a two-legged bird represents him and the crown prince as successions to the throne.  King Hae Buru asked the priestess if that will be a sign that a 3rd contender was up for the throne?  The Prime Minister told his speculation that the 3rd leg could be Hae Mo-su who he thinks has plans to be an emperor.

The Han governor invited and summon all the tribe clan leaders including Buyeo for a meeting in Hyeon-to-Goon city.  Prince Geumwa assisted by the Prime Minister attended on behalf of King Hae Buru for Buyeo.  The meeting was also attended by the chiefs of the different clans like Lady Yoo Hwa  who came in stead of his father, the chief of the Ha-baek clan.

As entertainment, the Han ambassador was treated with an arena fight between the Han emperor's vanguard army and the captive GoJoseon refugees.  The refugees was mercilessly massacred in front of the visiting spectators.  Prince Geumwa tried to conceal his anger and emotions towards the helpless refugees. He was restrained by the Prime Minister in showing off his rage towards the killing of the refugees.

But Lady Yoo Hwa rushed to the ambassador and plead to stop the massacre.  She was immediately detained for her action. Prince Geumwa plead to the Jeong Yang who was a  former family friend and was then an officer of the Han royal army to help Lady Yoo Hwa be released from prison and went back to her tribe.      

As the Han continued to relentlessly pursue the Joseon people, militants and supporters following General Hae Mo-su grew in numbers.  The Damul army which General Hae Mo-su trained becomes the hope of the refugees that will sometime be able to rebuild their fallen nation.  General Hae Mo-su inspired many including Lady Yoo Hwa from the Ha-baek tribe  who fell in love with him though they haven't actually meet in person.

In one of Hae-Mo-su's encounter with the Han, he was wounded and fell unconcious on the river.  His body was swept away down the stream into the waterways near the Ha-baek village where Lady Yoo Hwa fortunately saw her drifting.  Unknown to her, she dressed his wound and cared for him in secret despite the risk that her tribe might suffer from the Han once they discovered his whereabouts.

The relationship between Lady Yoo Hwa and General Hae Mo-su blossomed and grew intimate.
But, true enough, when the Han discovered what she did and her tribe including her father, the chief has been massacred as the consequence of protecting General Hae Mo-su.

Jumong Episode 60

So Seo No got injured when trying to tail and rescue Jumong while in Biryu territory trying to burn down Biryu's supplies and war provisions.  Their goal in attacking Biryu was to lose Song Yang's will to fight and defeat the Han reinforcement helping him.

Priestess Ma Oo Ryeong met Priestess Bi Geum-Sun to seek remedy for the unfortunate condition that struck King Geumwa,  She reported to the king that his condition was a sign of a disaster and that  he needed to offer a heavenly rite and cleanse himself using the sacred water that Priestess Bi Geum-Sun have given to  Priestess Ma Oo Ryeong.  The king was healed after performing the rite with Priestess Ma Oo Ryeong at the divination palace.

Priestess Ma Oo Ryeong also told King Geumwa that Priestess Bi Geum-Sun requested her to report that the Damul Bow which was Buyeo's sacred treasure has found its master and the one who will restore the old Joseon and build a new nation.  She also told Priestess Ma Oo Ryeong that King Geumwa must have already know by now who that person was.

The king summoned Song-Ju to recover the wooden crate containing the old Joseon records at the palace library.  But earlier, Prince Yung-po sold the crate to Master Chun in exchange for gold and silver.  The same was given by Master Chun to Jumong along with the old Joseon bronze mirror.

The Damul army prepares for war against the Buyeo army and planted sotan and smoke bombs along the enemy routes. And when the enemy crosses the path, the army shoot fire arrows to lit and blew the bombs to explode leaving the enemies in confusion as they attack and wiped them out.

In retaliation, the Buyeo army strike back on the Damul army's headquarters where only the elders, women and children are left as the main army was out in battle.  The Buyeo army slaughtered those who are left in the Damul headquarters.

Jumong Episode 61

Jumong send the map of the secret passageway inside the Buyeo palace provided by So Seo No secretly hidden inside the silk fabric for Yuri he sent through Bu Beo No to give to Lady Yoo Hwa. Lady Yoo Hwa along with Lady  Yesoya, Yuri and a maid were able to get out of the palace premises.  Upon learning of their escape, Prince Daeso instructed the royal guards led by Na-ru to pursue and find them.  They were able to get near the border by the river.  The convoy of MasterChun whom Jumong entrusted the letter for his mother was passing enroute to cross the border.  Lady Yoo Hwa took the opportunity to seek help to enable them  pass the border safely.

Lady Yesoya hide Yuri among the stacks of crops brought by Master Chun while she, Lady YooHwa and the maid posed as refugees going along with the caravan.  But they were discovered by the royal guards who inspected the caravan and send them back to the palace. and presented to King Geumwa who repeatedly took them as hostages and refused to free them.  He told Lady Yoo Hwa that he would rather kill her than send her off.

Master Chun, who helped them was tortured by the royal guards with Prince Young-po and his aide Ma-jin around.  Ma-jin even participated in torturing Master Chun.  The news about the escape has reached Jumong who was overly saddened by the fate of his family.

in order to exploit Biryu tribe's condition without Han reinforcements, King Geumwa ordered Prince Daeso to visit chief Song Yang and offer him reinforcements by Buyeo in exchange for provisions and war supplies for the Buyeo army.  But chief Song Yang refused Prince Daeso's offer and turned down the deal.  Prince Daeso walked out and left Biryu.

While in Biryu, the Prime Minister who went along with Prince Daeso have overheard from Biryu's tribesmen who were leaving to get to GyehRu were well fed and never starved by Jumong and the  Damul army.  The Prime Minister reported his observations to King Geumwa and the Buyeo court. Prince Daeso later reported to the king what has transpired between him and chief Song Yang of Biryu.

In GyehRu, starving refugees continue to flock as the Damul army tried their best to take care and feed them well. Despite preparing for war, Jumong was trying to find a way to desperately unite Jolbon without going to war. He still believe that the Jolbon coalition is like a brotherhood that shares a common blood and strife must be avoided among the leaders.

Jumong tried to study all characters of the different tribal chiefs through chief Yong Tal Bal and think of a way to join them in unifying Jolbon as one.

Jumong Episode 71

Jumong, together with the united Jolbon army showed its might and power as they wiped out and drove away the Hans out of Hyeon-to city and freed the refugees.

Among those nobles fleeing out of Hyeon-to were Master Hwang and Lady Sul-Lan.  The Damul army tried hard to pacify the refugees as they tried to kill the Han nobles that oppressed them.  Jumong explained to them that they needed the Han nobles alive in order to extradite and exchange them for the refugees who were still in Chang'an.

Upon seeing Lady Sul-Lan as one of those captured by the Damul army, Oh Yi initially thought of avenging Lady Yesoya's death by killing her.  But reason sink into him to let Lady Sul-Lan live for the sake of the many refugees that will be in exchange once they extradite her back to Chang'an.  Jumong although thought of the sufferings by his family, he still accorded her with respect fitting for a princess.

Jumong Episode 62

A Biryu soldier approached Jumong and relayed the  grand chief Song Yang's message summoning General Jumong alone to their headquarters.  So Seo No warned Jumong how crafty Song Yang was and that it could be plotting to kill him.

But Jumong decided to go and meet grand chief Song Yang reasoning that even the people of the Biryu tribe was part of Jolbon that he needs to take under his wings in order to build the nation.  He said that he was once reminded by his father, Commander Hae Ma-su that he can't fulfill a great mission if he can't even protect the person next to him. Jumong believed that unifying Jolbon without shedding blood is the initial step in recovering the glory of the vast Joseon empire.  he said that if visiting grand chief Song Yang is the will of the gods, the gods will not forsake them. And soon, Jumong rode away to see grand chief Song Yang.

Jumong entered the heavily guarded Biryu tribe and talked it out with  grand chief Song Yang.  During the talks, grand chief Song Yang lay helpless on allying with Jumong since the Han as now forsaken him and his tribe with reinforcements.  In the end, grand chief Song Yang accompanied Jumong back to the Damul army's headquarters and agreed to Jumong's terms.

King Geumwa learned about Jumong's effort in successfully uniting the different Jolbon tribes and prepare for the unification ceremony.  King Geumwa summoned Lady Hwa to his chamber to tell her that his fears  of finally reuniting Jolbon such are starting to come true through Jumong's efforts and that Jumong will soon take over Buyeo.  He's also afraid that the moment nears when he and Lady Yoo Hwa becomes irreconcilable.

Jumong Episode 65

After informing Lady  Yoo Hwa about Jumong's message to his mother, Bu Beo No was able to go back to the Damul's Army headquarters and reported to Jumong the condition and his observations within the Buyeo palace.  He likewise told Jumong about Prince Daeso's plan to meet as they ambush the Damul Army by the Akbu bridge leading to the Biryu river.

With the information told by Bu Beo No, Jumong with the Damul army was able to properly plan the army's next move to intercept and ambush the Buyeo army.

Before the Damul's army's departure going to Akbu bridge, Hyeopbo requested Mo Pal Mo to let him try on the metal armor that he made for Jumong.  Although Mo Pal Mo warns that the armor was too heavy to wear, Hyeopbo insisted and wore the armor as he tried to casually walk with it despite the inconvenience and tried to show off to Jumong  and his friends to see.

Jumong and the Damul army converged on the way going to Akbu bridge to show them that he is well and disprove the rumor that he was dead.  The army rejoiced and instantly motivated seeing their brave leader.

The Damul army attacked and annihilated the Buyeo army using its fire strategy of utilizing smoke bombs and sotan fire bombs.

During the battle, Daeso noticed that  Bu Beo No was attacking the Buyeo army and not the Damul soldiers.  He then realized he was betrayed by Bu Beo No and decided to kill him.  But Jumong was quick to rescue  Bu Beo No and prevented Daeso in killing him as they battle.  In defeat, the Buyeo army retreated from the battle field.

Upon his return to Buyeo palace, Daeso reported his loss to the king and requested for another chance to fight and battle Jumong again.  But King Geumwa strongly suggest he recover and recuperate first. The king insisted that instead of battling Jumong, Prince Daeso should focus on continuing the blockade and embargo campaign propagated by Buyeo along with the Han to oppress Jolbon and the Damul from replenishing its provisions.  Han governor Jeong Yang agrees with King Geumwa's suggestion to Prince Daeso.  Although furious from his loss, Prince Daeso cannot refute what he was told to do.

With fury raging within him, Prince Daeso summon for Bu Beo No.  But Na-Ru told him that he already went missing along with his family.  Na-Ru also reported that a month ago, the stationed Buyeo soldiers at the Jolbon borders were also killed by unidentified business traders which he believe was also Jumong.  Daeso then realized he has been gravely tricked by Jumong.

Meanwhile, Lady Sul Lan got a chance to encounter Yuri, Jumong's son with Lady Yesoya along the palace hallway.  Queen Wonhu, (Prince Daeso's mother and queen consort of King Geumwa) happens to be with Lady Sul Lan during the encounter and even introduced Yuri to the queen as she asked Yuri to pay request and bow to her.  Yuri obediently bowed to the queen.  Before Yuri got more acquainted with the two women, Lady Yesoya came and overheard what Lady Sul Lan have said.  She rushed to Yuri and took her son away from them as she threatens them about God's punishment for the act.   Lady Sul Lan reacted by  also threatening Lady Yesoya.  However, Queen Wonhu understanding Lady Sul Lan's motherly instincts ruled out and told her not to reprimand mother and son and just leave them alone.

Lady Sul Lan brags out that when Prince Daeso ascends to the throne she will asked Daeso for Yuri as her trophy and plans to teach Yuri because she's lonely.  However, Queen Wonhu warns her not to since she was uncomfortable seeing Yuri since he remind her so much about Jumong.

Back in Jolbon, Jumong and the Damul army returned wit people rejoicing their victory.  Seeing and feeling the crisis on people's provisions and disease threats, Jumong was left with no choice but to seek divine intervention and invoke the priestesses to perform some divination rites.   Though he thought of visiting the affected areas as her comrades advises him to rest first and take care of his body. Instead of losing hope, Jumong decided to kneel down and pray to the gods for the crises he and the people are experiencing.  He did his devotion for days and nights as the army and the people watched and pray along with him.

Meanwhile, So Seo No, who agreed to join the traders on a sea voyage to get provisions for Jolbon was likewise experiencing the difficulties of travelling on the rough seas.

Jumong Episode 70

Prince Young-po goes to Jolbon and negotiate a deal with Jumong for Lady Yesoya and Yuri's lives. He urge Jumong to make a promise on his two conditions.  First, will be not to go to war with Hyeon-to and second once he was able to take over Buyeo, he must give Buyeo to him.

Tormented by the risked lives of his family, Jumong fell in deep thoughts about Prince Young-po's demands.  His officers and comrades are likewise furious over Prince Young-po's demands in exchange for the lives of their leader's family.  They were all caught in between of what measures to do with Prince Young-po's absurd demands.  In the end, Jumong finally sat down with Prince Young- po and lay down his reply to his demands in exchange for the lives of his loved ones.
But before Jumong told his counter demand to Prince Young-po, he took the opportunity to tell Prince Young-po his lifelong grudge to him and Prince Daeso.

He told Prince Young-po that he knows he and his brother have plotted and conspired in killing his father, Commander Hae Mo-Su yet demand such irrational deal for the lives of his family.  But still  Prince Young-po was firm in claiming his demands were still rational to him and threaten Jumong to accept the offer or not.

Jumong finally accepted Prince Young-po's offer but Mari suggested that Prince Young-po shall stay in Jolbon while he is willing to risk his life  in going to check and see if Lady Yesoya and Yuri are really alive.  Prince Young-po has no way but to give in to Jumong's counter demand and instructed his aide to accompany Mari to Hyeon-to city where Lady Yesoya and Yuri were being kept.

In Buyeo, the Prime Minister is trying to justify to King Geumwa why Prince Daeso accepted to ally with the Han.  He told the king that in order not to lose their authority and a big threat to Buyeo's identity as the successor of the old Joseon empire before Jumong builds a new nation and claim succession of the old Joseon.  The alliance with the Han was needed despite their being in critical financial condition.  King Geumwa laugh out the Prime Minister's illusion that Buyeo was Joseon's successor.  He told the Prime Minister that what Buyeo's immediate need was to strengthen their nation instead of helping the Hans.  The king wanted the Han to fight in behalf of Buyeo and not Buyeo fighting in behalf of the Han.  The Prime Minister was dumbfounded to hear what King Geumwa have said.

Queen Wonhu  talked it out to drive away supposedly Lady Yoo Hwa's ghost looming over King Geumwa causing him to lose proper judgment over Buyeo's current dire condition.  The queen's brother came rushing by and told that their spy in Jolbon reported Prince Young-po was currently seen in Jolbon with Jumong.

Shocked by the news, she told her brother not to tell Prince Daeso for he will surely be mad at his brother.  She's worried Prince Young-po did a treacherous act.

Jumong's comrades tried hard to ease and comfort him.  Jae-Sa tried to bring and made him drink medicinal tonic to help him relax.

Jumong Episode 63

Bu Beo No was able to infiltrate inside Jolbon and become a Damul army.  But Oh Yi wo have seemed to suspect him was keeping a close eye on him.  Bu Beo No cloely watched over Jumong's acts inside the headquarters and have been trying his best to have the opportunity to execute Prince Daeso's order to kill Jumong.

One night donning a mask, he found an opportunity and got inside Jumong's chamber and attackhim with his dagger.  But Jumong was awaken making him fled away for his life.  Jumong chased, cornered him and fought him.  As Oh Yi come to the rescue, Jumong was able to subdue him with his sword on Bu Beo No's  neck.

Jumong later on learned about the plot ordered by Prince Daeso and what made Bu Beo No resent to do it because of the risk for his family and the enlightenment that sinked in during his stay in Jolbon.  Jumong instead of punishing Bu Beo No conceived a plan that will help him save his family, deceived Prince Daeso and give him a chance to be loyal and follow him in his mission for establishing his nation.

 Jumong told Bu Beo No to return to Buyeo and report to Prince Daeso that he successfully killed him.  The news that Jumong is dead can somehow ease the embargo and blockade Buyeo and the Han was undergoing in successfully transporting in their provisions to Jolbon.  Jumong planned that in order for the plan to succeed, he need to refrain from attending Jolbon functions for his enemies to think he was dead.

Jumong Episode 68

Upon learning the mishap that his family have suffered, Jumong sadly remembers his last conversations with his mother.  His comrades took the initiative to follow the supposedly trail Lady Yesoya and Yuri have taken in the hope that they can still find Jumong's wife and son.  But failure struck and all they could find was Yuri's shoe which probably lost as they escaped along the river of the nearby hills.  When the little shoe was presented to Jumong upon teir  return to Jolbon, he felt so sad and remorse thinking he really have lost his son and Lady Yesoya.

King Geumwa was extremely sad and regretful that Lady Yoo Hwa died by his sword and accorded a burial fitting for a queen at the Founder's mountain where Buyeo's royalty were traditionally being buried.  Upon learning of his mother's funeral Jumong despite the risk, decided to see his mother's remains. He gave instructions to not to reveal about  his plan going to the funeral.  But knowing Jumong's nature, King Geumwa who was in the mountain for Lady Yoo Hwa's funeral dismissed his royal guards to allow him to freely pay his last respects to his mother.

 

So seo No tried hard to get Jumong out of his grief by telling him that his family's sacrifice will only be worth if he continue achieving his mission. In order to dispell and rule out his grief, Jumong participated with Jolbon's priestesses and pray for strength and wisdom.  A sparrow flew over the altar as Jumong and the priestesses are performing the ritual of mourning.  The bird carries with it a message ribboned in its feet.  The priestess detach the ribboned message and gave it to Jumong.  The message inscribed instructions of meeting priestess Bi Geum Sun on a hill.  Jumong and Oh Yi travelled to the hill where priestess  Bi Geum Sun was waiting and told him that he has overcome the trials bestowed to him by the heavens and have united Jolbon.  She said that he  is now qualified as the master of one of the two remaining Damul's sacred treasures which were the armor worn by the old Joseon monarchs in the battlefield and the book containing the ancient Joseon iron army secrets. Priestess Bi Geum Sun also told Jumong that he will find the last sacred treasure once he unlocks the secret of the iron army.  And the priestess bid him goodbye and left.

Upon return to the Jolbon headquarters, Jumong summoned a meeting with  his officers and showed everyone the armor and the book.  Since the book was written in codes, they need to first decipher its meaning to unlock  te secret of the Joseon iron army.

Prince Daeso have learned that his father, Kim  Geumwa allowed to secretly attend Lady Yoo Hwa's funeral at the  Founder's mountain.  The ministers  told the prince that they now lost the opportunity to kill Jumong because of the king's act  and urge Prince Daeso to immediately take control of Buyeo now that the king's judgment cannot be trusted anymore.

Everyone in Jolbon tried hard reading  and deciphering the book of the ancient Joseon iron army secrets. It was Daesin Sa Yong who have finally understood that the codes were about how to forge and make the iron  armor thin and strong.  It was then relayed to Mo Pal Mo so he can start making the iron armors.  The young apprentices of Mo Pal Mo even made medicinal tonic to keep the army'skin warm despite the biting winter cold.

With the new advancements on their armor and resistance to the cold winter, the Damul army gets ready to battle and rive out the Hans in Hyeon-to city.

The Han envoy, Master Hwang who have brought Lady Yesoya and Yuri to Hyeon-to city were being tightly watched by attendants and cannot freely roam around.

Jumong Episode 69

Armed with Damul's new iron warfares, Jumong and his comrades are very optimistic and overwhelmed that they can confidently win over the Hans.  however, Jumong reminded them that its not the iron weapons and armors that made them defeat the Hans from the last battle they have with them but their fervent and wholehearted will to fight that led to their victory.  With their new allies, Jumong instructed to train the army in a more systematically way in order to attain victory against the enemies.  Jumong also renewed the faith and trust among the disgruntled chiefs of the united Jolbon.

In one of the officers meeting, Chief Yeon Ta Bal presented to them the newest addition to the war provisions for Jolbon army.  The provisions include dried meat which can be conveniently eaten by the army in the battlefield. Jumong also assigned systematic means for the Jolbon chiefs to obtain, transfer and delivery the provisions.    Mo Pal Mo and his ironsmiths constantly made, upgraded and developed weapons for the army in preparation for Jolbon's war against the Hans in Hyeon-to city and save the refugees.

After Lady Yoo Hwa's death, King Geumwa's health continues to decline as he became overly lonely without her.  Instead of participating into court sessions, he decided to pray in front of Lady Yoo Hwa's  memorial tablet in Buyeo's divination palace.  In order to seek advice, Prince Daeso paid a visit to him while he was praying.  He was shocked as to why Buyeo was going to war when it was supposedly Jolbon and Hyeon-to's battle.  Knowing how King Geumwa hated the Han, Prince Daeso reluctantly told him about the alliance he forged with Gov. Yang-Jeong of Hyeon-to.  King Geumwa mocked Prince Daeso's plan as he shocked him with the unthinkable that no one will fight against should the Han allied with Jolbon.  Leaving Prince Daeso in a daze.  After hearing out what King Geumwa told Prince Daeso, the Prime Minister reminded Prince Daeso to take precaution.  Although he agree with the alliance, he mentioned that if Jolbon win over Hyeon-to, Buyeo  will not be far from being subjugated.  Thus, he urged Prince Daeso to make all efforts to help Hyeon-t for the safety of Buyeo.  He sees that the alliance will somehow can be a balance to stop Jumong and Jolbon from growing strong.

In Hyeon-to, Gov. Yang-Jeong  was furious hearing the news that Gov. Hao-Chen (Master Hwang) has been feeding Chang'an with bad feedback making the Han royals distrust him more. He was equally shocked to have also learned the news that Jolbon will soon go to war against Hyeon-to as he desperately request for the lacking reinforcement and provisions from all sources.

While in a marketplace, Lady Yesoya happened to see Oh Yi who was in Hyeon-to city under orders to scout the refugees imprisoned in the city. She was about to approach Oh Yi but was prevented by the attendants assigned by Master Hwang as guard her.

Meanwhile, Prince Young-po who was in Hyeon-to following and seeking favors with Master Hwang was shocked to learn from his aide that there will be a war soon in Hyeon-to.  Prince Young-po  also learned that Lady Yesoya and Yuri was being held captive by Master Hwang thinking they were refugees.

Prince Young-po planned on how he can get Lady Yesoya and Yuri in order for him to use them in dealing with Jumong.  He later send assassins to get them and keep them as his pawns.  He told his aide he will go and visit Jolbon to see Jumong about his deal and plan.  But, Jumong did not exactly buy out his deal and asked  him to show proof that Lady Yesoya and Yuri are indeed alive.    

Since Gov. Yang-Jeong was short with reinforcements, one of  strategy that Gov. Yang-Jeong  have thought to withstand the attack of Jumong's army was to use the refugees as shield and position them in vanguard before the Han soldiers.

Jumong Episode 64

Bu Beo No reported  to Prince Daeso that he successfully killed Jumong. As a reward, Prince Daeso made him a noble of Buyeo and give him land titles. He also appointed him as Assistant Commander of Na-ru and help in the preparations for the war since he was much familiar with Jolbon. He will be in-charge of the spies assigned in Jolbon and initiate ways to disrupt and disable their enemy.

Jumong and his comrades made a trip to Eu-Pru to meet the pirate Bu Wi-Yeom who can help them secure provisions needed for the war.  On the way, So seo No and Daesin Sa Yong gave them some information about the person and how long the trip might take.  So seo No handed Jumong a map of the area where Bu Wi-Yeom might be found.  Jumong assure them that the pirate must have been trading goods in the  area and they might find a clue from the merchants in the surrounding area that could lead them to their target person.

Prince Daeso summoned the court officials and announce that Buyeo is going to war against Jolbon and that King Geumwa already consented to it and has given full authority  despite the miserable condition of the Buyeo people suffering from famine and under serious crisis.  Prince Daeso later gave them the news that Jumong was killed by his assassin making Jolbon powerless.  As the court resented about going into war due to the dire state of Buyeo, Prince Daeso told them that in order for the soldiers to be motivated, he was willing to pay off the soldiers salaries and the people with the fund taken from the SaChulDo and the nobles as well as the officers.

Worried sick on the news about Jumong, Lady Yoo Hwa immediately seek audience with King Geumwa to confirm the news.  Although he has doubts, he barely confirm the supposedly death of Jumong making the lady passed out in disbelief,  She again urged King Geumwa to let her and Lady Yesoya be set free promising she will hold no grudge against him despite Jumong's death.

But King Geumwa was firm on keeping them both especially now that Buyeo is in the verge of war against Jolbon.  Determined to continue her plea, Lady Yoo Hwa, kneeled and fasted for days despite severe weather that resulted to critically weakened her body and became ill.

Seeing the suffering and grief in Lady Yoo Hwa, Bu Beo No secretly informed the lady about the real condition of Jumong.  The information renewed Lady Yoo Hwa's strength and hope.

As part of his disappearing act to confuse his enemies, Jumong and his comrades continue to  scour the village near Eu-Pru looking for Bu Wi-Yeom and finally found him and made a deal after going to a series of challenges.  He later convinced Bu Wi-Yeom and his men to serve him and join the Damul army.  Though reluctant, Jumong send So Seo No for the ocean voyage with the pirates and Bu Wi-Yeom to secure the provisions needed by Jolbon in order to sustain going to war with the Han and Buyeo.

Jumong Episode 67

After finding out the difficult condition of Lady Yoo Hwa, Lady Yesoya and Jumong's young child Yuri, So Seo No secretly requested a royal guard to bring silk for them.  Inside one of the silk cloth, she inserted the map of the secret passageway leading out of the palace.  Upon seeing an opportunity, the two women along with the young Yuri seek out the secret passageway and tried to sneak out from the palace.

Lady Yoo Hwa used the excuse of going to the divination palace to pray.  But their escape was discovered when King Geumwa suddenly decided to visit Lady Yoo Hwa  and discovered she was not in her chambers.  Thus, suspecting she and Lady Yesoya with Yuri were gone.  King Geumwa ordered to search for them.

In order to confuse those who were chasing them, Lady yoo Hwa decided to let Lady Yesoya and Yuri to continue on the escape trail as she lure away the palace guards.  As soon as Lady Yesoya and Yuri got asecured distance, Lady Yoo Hwa turned back towards the palace guards and let her be captured instead.  She was then returned to the palace and face King Geumwa's wrath.  Angered by her act, King Geumwa in a spur of fury unknowingly slashed and critically wounded Lady Yoo Hwa and died on the spot.

Due to over exhaustion and poor health, the escaping Lady Yesoya, fell unconscious on the hillside of their escape trail, leaving the child Yuri crawl to her and cried.  Due to Yuri's crying, Lady Yesoya, found enoug strength to continue their escape.  The passing caravan of Master Hwang, a Han nobility who was on his way to Hyeon-to city helped Lady Yesoya and Yuri thinking she was a widowed refugee with fatherless child escaping starvation in Buyeo.

Meanwhile in Jolbon, the Damul army is all set for war.  Oh Yi reported to Jumong the sad event that happened to his mother, Lady Yoo Hwa, Lady Yesoya and Yuri.  That they were killed after trying to escape from the palace.

Jumong Episode 66

Although the weather was hostile, Jumong continued to pray and fast for days to seek divine intervention for the crisis Jolbon and the people are experiencing.  For him, this battle against natural calamities he nor his army cannot solve but the gods alone.

Jumong's body weakens and he fainted while in prayers.  His comrades were confused and worries for his condition. But later on realized that they need to be united for the sake of their beloved leader. In the palace, his mother and wife are also praying and kneeling in front of Buyeo's divination palace.

At the Jolbon borders, Buyeo continued to spy the premises to gather information. They massacred those guarding the area.  They also did the same tooter tribes around Jolbon adding up misery and distrust to the people.

As Jumong deeply think about is mission and how he can really build the nation to free the people from oppression, he dwindled on the thought and words told by the priestess Bi Geum Sun from the Founder's mountain where the Damul bow was given to him as its rightful master.  As he holds the Damul bow in his hands, Jumong's thoughts lingers on the Jolbon people being massacred for his cause.  The priestess  can only say and advise that e needs to be strong at heart in order to fulfill his mission.

When Jumong and his comrades are on the way to patrol and defend the borders around Jolbon, they come across Sa  Yong who was sent by So Seo No to inform Jumong about her trip and that she was  stranded at Mt. Ogeum due to the blockade suppressing er to enter Jolbon.  Jumong immediately deployed men to relay the news to Chief Yeon Ta Bal and assist So Seo No with the safety transport of the provisions from Mt. Ogeum. Jumong was tearfully delighted watching the caravans of provisions for the people approaching Jolbon.  He felt the gods have not forsaken them.

At the Buyeo palace, Prince Daeso and Governor Yang Jeong were into thinking that Jolbon will soon collapse into their hands due to the blockade and embargo they have imposed and that the people's unity now falters.  They even thought of attacking GyehRu to totally cripple the force of the Damul army.

One night, King Geumwa dreamt of Jumong killing him.  It then proceeded by the vision of Founder's mountain's priestess Bi Geum Sun repeating to him the vision behind the recent eclipse and the prophecy that: Disaster awaits Buyeo as a man with the energy of the sun shall build a new nation.

The Buyeo court tried to analyze how did their blockage and embargo strategy with help from the Han have failed?  They somehow theorized that Jumong used the south to successfully transported food and medicine for Jolbon leaving their northern border blockade useless.  The ministers told King Geumwa that due to the cost of executing the blockade and embargo, Buyeo's finances are dangerously down and will get worse if Buyeo cannot take over Jolbon.  Governor Yang Jeong urged that although Jolbon have successfully gone over te blockade, the area was not yet completely stable and still vulnerable for attack.  But King Geumwa strongly opposed for an attack due to Buyeo's critical finances and have not enough money to spend for war provisions. Governor Yang Jeong countered to withdraw the Han army back to Hyeon-to.  Governor Yang Jeong was very disappointed that he allied with Buyeo and failed to subdue Jumong and his army.  Governor Yang Jeong's disappointment was overheard by the Han envoy, Master Chun sent and assigned by Han emperor to supervise Hyeon-to and observe Governor Yang Jeong's performance.  The envoy even mocked Prince Daeso's cleverness which delighted Prince Young-po who was around.

Jumong and So Seo No's efforts are well cherished by the chiefs of the united Jolbon.  Even the reluctant and former opposition  So Yang of the BirYu tribe bowed to acknowledge them. Jumong imparts the lessons he has learned about the crisis they have been through.  He said that although the journey was most painful period in his life, the heavens took care of Jolbon and it went through because of the absolute unity of getting through the crisis together making them persevere despite the odds. A lesson that Jolbon will not be shaken off anymore. That the road to building a nation cannot be done by one man alone.  They were successful because of the people's trust and labor.  Jumong bowed to take it to heart in order to build a strong nation.
