Jumong send the map of the secret passageway inside the Buyeo palace provided by So Seo No secretly hidden inside the silk fabric for Yuri he sent through Bu Beo No to give to Lady Yoo Hwa. Lady Yoo Hwa along with Lady Yesoya, Yuri and a maid were able to get out of the palace premises. Upon learning of their escape, Prince Daeso instructed the royal guards led by Na-ru to pursue and find them. They were able to get near the border by the river. The convoy of MasterChun whom Jumong entrusted the letter for his mother was passing enroute to cross the border. Lady Yoo Hwa took the opportunity to seek help to enable them pass the border safely.
Lady Yesoya hide Yuri among the stacks of crops brought by Master Chun while she, Lady YooHwa and the maid posed as refugees going along with the caravan. But they were discovered by the royal guards who inspected the caravan and send them back to the palace. and presented to King Geumwa who repeatedly took them as hostages and refused to free them. He told Lady Yoo Hwa that he would rather kill her than send her off.
Master Chun, who helped them was tortured by the royal guards with Prince Young-po and his aide Ma-jin around. Ma-jin even participated in torturing Master Chun. The news about the escape has reached Jumong who was overly saddened by the fate of his family.
in order to exploit Biryu tribe's condition without Han reinforcements, King Geumwa ordered Prince Daeso to visit chief Song Yang and offer him reinforcements by Buyeo in exchange for provisions and war supplies for the Buyeo army. But chief Song Yang refused Prince Daeso's offer and turned down the deal. Prince Daeso walked out and left Biryu.
While in Biryu, the Prime Minister who went along with Prince Daeso have overheard from Biryu's tribesmen who were leaving to get to GyehRu were well fed and never starved by Jumong and the Damul army. The Prime Minister reported his observations to King Geumwa and the Buyeo court. Prince Daeso later reported to the king what has transpired between him and chief Song Yang of Biryu.
In GyehRu, starving refugees continue to flock as the Damul army tried their best to take care and feed them well. Despite preparing for war, Jumong was trying to find a way to desperately unite Jolbon without going to war. He still believe that the Jolbon coalition is like a brotherhood that shares a common blood and strife must be avoided among the leaders.
Jumong tried to study all characters of the different tribal chiefs through chief Yong Tal Bal and think of a way to join them in unifying Jolbon as one.
